City of Stromsburg, Nebraska Utility Policy Information
Meter Reading takes place at the end of each month and utility bills are due upon receipt and become delinquent after the 15th of the following month. If payment has not been received by the due date a 5% penalty charge will be applied to your current bill and this amount will be reflected in the disconnect letters that are sent out. If payment has not been received by the date stated on the disconnect letter or an Installment Plan arranged with the City Office according to City policy, utilities will be disconnected and the customer will be responsible for disconnect fees which are $40 per service and full payment of bill before utilities are turned back on. A $25 pickup fee will be charged for a City employee going to the customer for payment. The City does not reconnect utilities after business hours.

Disconnection may be postponed if a resident has serious health problems certified by a licensed physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse. Such certification shall be filed with the utility within 5 days of receiving notice and will prevent disconnection for 30 days.
