The Stromsburg Mayor and City Council will meet in regular session on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 5:35 p.m. at the City Office. The City Office including the Council Chambers are closed to the public at this time due to the COVID-19 outbreak. If you wish to participate in the meeting you will be required to do so by conference call, which is allowed due to Executive Order Number 20-03 issued by Governor Pete Ricketts.

North Ward - 2020
Dennis is a native of Polk County Nebraska. Dennis was born in Shelby NE, grew up on a farm and graduated from Gresham High School, and then Graduated from South East Community College. He started working in Stromsburg in 1966 and became a resident in 1971. Dennis started his first business in the Stromsburg community in 1974 and has been a business owner ever since. He has been involved in many community groups while in Stromsburg. Dennis has been a member of Lions Club, Stromsburg Fire Department, the Stromsburg EMT and an officer in the Stromsburg Commercial Club. Dennis is actively involved in the Evangelical Covenant Church having severed on all boards as well as on the Midwest Conference of the Covenant Church. Dennis has served on the Stromsburg City Council for over 26 years. He and his wife Connie have five children and are very proud grandparents of six.
Douglas Lamoree - Vice President
South Ward - 2020
Doug was born and raised in Stromsburg. He received a degree in Finance and Management from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1988. Doug is the Branch President of Pinnacle Bank - Shelby. Doug is a licensed insurance agent as well as being a licensed real estate broker. Doug and his wife Julie have four children, Kassandra, Tyler, Kylie and Tanner. Doug is involved in his children’s activities, enjoys the outdoors, and is an active member in his community and county organizations.
South Ward - 2022
Joel grew up in Howells, NE, graduated from Howells Public School, and then went to college at Wyotech and graduated with a degree in diesel technology in 2005. He has since been employed by Truck Center Companies. Joel and his wife Tonya moved to Stromsburg in 2014. They have one child. (Carter) Joel is an active member of the Stromsburg Volunteer Fire Department and has served on the Board of Adjustments. He and his family enjoy being outside and you have likely seen them on walks when the weather is nice.
North Ward - 2022
Lois grew up and graduated from Bradshaw High School in Bradshaw, NE. Lois was a stay at home mother until her children were in school. She has worked at the Midwest Covenant Home and the Economy Hometown Market. In 1996, she began working at Yungdahl's Apothecary when the new business opened in Stromsburg and is still there today. Lois is married to Phil, who is the CEO of Polk County Rural Public Power in Stromsburg. They have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Lois has been involved with many groups and organizations including the Stromsburg Baptist Church, the Stromsburg EMS, Aftershock Youth Group, Foster Parent Program and Two River Running Club.
